The B4Life Crisis programme aims to strengthen the implementation and visibility of the European Union’s commitments to biodiversity, within the framework of its development policy and international partnerships.
This programme provides technical support to the European Commission’s services, both at headquarters and within EU delegations, to support the effective implementation of biodiversity conservation actions. Particular attention is paid to countries in crisis situations, taking into account the close links between territorial fragility and the depletion of natural resources.
Result 1: The quality of EU programmes and projects on biodiversity and ecosystem services is improved through the technical support that the Facility will provide to EU delegations and INTPA headquarters staff at all stages of their project cycle (multi-annual programming, identification, formulation, implementation and evaluation).
Result 2: The EU’s development cooperation initiatives are helping to foster a better understanding of the links between biodiversity, ecosystem services, sustainable development and poverty reduction. This objective is particularly important in countries that are rich in natural resources but face situations of fragility. It is supported by increased sharing of knowledge, experience and best practice at European and international level.
