Preparation, implementation and monitoring of species action plans for endangered species in Turkey within the concept of a new methodology

The overall objective of this contract is to promote the conservation of threatened species by strengthening the institutional capacities of the relevant organisations and enhancing cooperation between them. It aims to develop Turkey’s species conservation strategy by supporting existing initiatives in this field, and to develop an objective methodology for prioritising threatened species with a view to drawing up species-specific action plans.

Result 1: Strengthen the capacity of the relevant ministries to ensure the conservation of wildlife in Turkey, in particular through the implementation of the measures set out in the species action plans.

Result 2: Strengthen the capacities of stakeholders, raise public awareness and improve understanding of natural resources, ecosystem services, and the threats and risks associated with species conservation.
