PROGRAM TO SUPPORT SUSTAINABLE BIODIVERSITY CONSERVATION – PACS BIO

The overall project objective is to contribute to biodiversity conservation and sustainable development in Bolivia by supporting protected areas (PAs) policy, developed under the National System of Protected Areas (SNAP).

 

To help strengthen the SNAP, and to promote the economic and social role of the communities living in PAs, as the legal and political framework in Bolivia, the objectives of this contract are:

– Provide technical assistance to institutional and programmatic Ministry of Environment, Biodiversity, Climate Change and Forest Development and Management (VMA) and the National Service of Protected Areas (SERNAP), as managers of the National System of Protected Areas (SNAP),

– Provide the VMA and SERNAP with short term technical assistance, in key areas, to achieve the goals and outcomes specified in the financing agreement.
